After working with Redken for well over 8 years, I’ve become underwhelmed, and I’m not quit sure what changed, but the line is definitely different. At first the color seemed to get brassy. Sometimes I’d use a dark brown (a level 4 for the pros out there) and it would end up as a light brown/dark blond (level7). Or, a few clients colors would be really bright at the scalp (we call that hot roots) Then I noticed colors would dull and wash out quickly, clients started to complain of scalp irritation, then when the color wasn’t covering gray, that’s when I had enough. I have used many color lines in my years as a hairstylist, but I wanted to find something I haven’t used before. I’m in a spot in my career where I’m getting board, I haven’t been impressed with anything new since discovering Brazilian Blowout 5 or years ago. I wanted to bring in something clients had never heard of. Something that would reignite my passion for my career I love so much. After many months of looking and trying and experimenting with different lines, I’ve found something refreshing and makes me really excited! I’ve settled on a color line called Keune. It’s a very conditioning color line that doesn’t stain or irritate the scalp, the reds are vibrant, and the colors fade factor is much lower. It smells good and it doesn’t sting my nose or make my eyes water.
I’m so in love with this new line, I wanted to share some of my creations using the new color. There’s been lots of ombré’s some Sombrè’s and some melted ombre done in the salon these past months. I’m going to admit, I LOVE creating these blended ombré looks. Here’s my favorite looks from the month of March!
